The XL Route

Geneva to Nice in 8 days

Here are the XL routes. The start and end point of these are the same as the Challenge Route but they are longer and have extra climbing. If you’re feeling good one day, or there’s a particulary climb that you want to conquer, you can swap between the Challenge and XL routes.

If you click on the Komoot route maps, it’ll take you to the Komoot page where the major climbs and some other points of interest are highlighted with photos.

The sharp-eyed will notice that Day 1, 7 & 8 are the same as the Challenge Route. The ‘bonus climbs’ that only feature on this route are in bold.

At the bottom of the page you will find the downloadable gpx files. You’ll need to put these on your Garmin/Wahoo to be able to follow the route. If you’re looking for the XL routes, they will be shared in a later post.

So, these are the routes which contain the Col d’Izoard, the Col d’Agnel and the Col de la Loze - now to find out when you’ll tackle them!
