Hotel Day 5: Snow Chill Hotel, Risoul

☆☆☆☆ Hotel in Risoul

After the “rest day” in Bourg d’Oisans comes one of the most epic days of the trip.

We start climbing almost straight away towards the top of the Col du Galibier via the Col du Lauteret and descend down through Serre Chevalier towards Briançon (UNESCO World Heritage Site). From there, the ascent of the Col d’Izoard awaits before heading towards the Hotel in Risoul.

The Snow Chill Hotel in Risoul, is a four star hotel in Risoul ski area. We will be rewarded by climbing the final hill to the hotel with a stunning setting.

As a large ski hotel, there’s plenty of rooms for our large group and our bikes. There’s also a spa and sauna, although it’ll probably be the excellent food in the restaurant we’ll be most interested in!

Organising this trip, hasn’t been without its problems to solve. I had been planning on us staying in a different hotel, in an area much closer to the Col d’Agnel.

A few weeks ago, after months of reassurances, the other hotel told us that they wouldn’t take our booking! Fortunately, the team at Snow Chill were extremely helpful and efficient getting our booking confirmed. What had taken months with the other hotel, was done in a few hours by the team at Snow Chill.

We’ve just got hotels for day 6,7 & 8 to reveal and I’ve got some exciting news to share with you too!
